Tealmere
Grove B&B is only 25 minutes away from the white beaches,
Tutukaka Paradise Coast and Poor Knights islands, a marine reserve
with the world biggest sea cave. No wonder Whangarei is the Dive
Capital of New Zealand.
We are neighbours from Northland's Kiwi House & Museum and
Heritage Park. Here you can catch a glimpse in the historic Clarke
Homestead of the early settlers' life. And we are neighbours from
the Lion Park known from TV. There are also many walking tracks
in Whangarei and surrounding areas like a trail up to Mount Parahaki,
242 metres above the city with panoramic view of the city and harbour.
Most beautiful is a visit
to Whangarei Heads where you find remote and beautiful white sandy
beaches, fringed with crimson flowering pohutukawa trees.
A must to every visitor of Whangarei is a trip to Whangarei Falls,
dropping 25 metres into a beautiful bush-fringed pool.
In the heart of the city you can see yachts from all over the world,
parked like cars along the award winning waterfront 'Quayside Town
Basin'. Here you find the the largest collection of timepieces at
the Claphams Clocks collection. Art galleries, craft and speciality
shops with cafes and restaurants invite to enjoy the tranquil harbour
setting.
So make Tealmere Grove B&B in Whangarei your base to explore
the North with the Bay of Islands, Dargaville and the Kauri Coast.
In the Bay of Islands visit historic Russell, once the Hell Hole
of the Pacific and capital of New Zealand. Nearby is Paihia and
Waitangi, where the historic Treaty was signed in 1840.
Dargaville and the Kauri Coast are even closer to Whangarei, just
a 45 minute drive west. White sandy beaches and the Waipoua Forest
with its mighty Kauri trees are awaiting you. It is here where the
European pioneers of New Zealand started their journey.
